Six iClass levels designating content from child safe to explicit adult that can be found
on a listed site. iClass can even be used by parents to determine content restriction
measures. And listed sites are required to display the respective iClass banner.
(The "i" in iClass represents "internet".)
Before determining the Content Level of your site . . .
please make sure it isn't disqualified for one or
more of the following reasons...
Sites with chat rooms regardless of the intended audience. (It is strictly about being able to monitor
against unacceptable content 24 x 7.)
Any content that requires "legal adult status", including graphical or written forms of explicit sexual acts.
Visual depictions of actual violence during which any severe wounds are inflicted to humans
Visual depictions of actual violence during which any human inflicts wounds upon any living creature
Visual or written content which is in conflict with the
listing rules.
Any content globally considered illegal and/or any content deemed illegal in the state of
Texas, USA
Content is child safe, but primarily focused towards mature and adult visitors
Content not necessarily intended for or understandable by young children
No nudity
No adult language
No violent content
No adult situations
No age restricted activities presented or depicted (i.e. smoking or drinking)
Content is child safe and can have excellent information for adult use, but its focus is to parents
with children ages 3 to 7. (Some commercial sites might apply depending on the product
and/or services.)
Primary content intended for young children
Primary content understandable by young children
No violent content
No nudity
No adult language
Content is child safe and can have excellent information for adult use, but is not recommended for
children under 8. (Some commercial sites might apply depending on the
product and/or services.)
Content not understandable by young children
Content not intended for young children

May contain drawings and animations depicting mild graphic violence (e.g. online comic books,
computer games, and etc.)
Content is not recommended for children under 11 and can have excellent information for
adult use . . . including commercial and other sites with information requiring comprehension
ability usually associated with individuals 11 and older.
Drawings, paintings, or other artistic depictions of the nude human form
Very mild curse words
Visual and written depictions of animated and real moderate graphic violence (e.g. online comic
books, computer games, photos, research material for class work, and etc.)
Not recommended for ages under 13 with parental permission / guidance up to age 15
Drawings, paintings, or other artistic depictions of nude humans in non-graphic erotic
situations
Visual erotic depictions with one or more people nude but no genitalia evident
Written erotic descriptions without graphic descriptions of sexual intercourse
Mild curse words
Visual or written descriptions of violence during which death does not occur (e.g. war scenes for
class work assignment)
Use of content control through browser or third party software a consideration for younger

For ages 16 and older with use of content control through browser or third party software

Drawings, paintings or other artistic media depicting non-graphic sexual intercourse
Full frontal nudity where a state of sexual arousal is not evident
Written erotic descriptions with euphemisms used to describe graphic sexual intercourse

Visual or written descriptions of staged violence during which death occurs
